Dr Alexandra Papadopoulou attained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Specialty Degree in Oral Surgery, Specialty Degree in Orthodontics and PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece. She was maintaining a private practice in the city of Thessaloniki for 17 years and served as Honorary Lecturer for more than 10 years before relocating in Australia. During 2014-2020, she served as full time Senior Lecturer in Australian tertiary education. She was involved in all aspects of clinical and theoretic teaching of post-graduates in the Specialty of Orthodontics. Additionally, she has successfully supervised various types of research projects that resulted in peer-reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals and received numerous awards. She has been invited to teach in Australian and international universities and present to orthodontic specialty conferences nationally and internationally. As a recognition of her scientific and academic service, she has been invited as external examiner for the specialty in orthodontics degrees in international institutions and boards. She has been awarded Fellowship Higher Education Academy (UK) for the quality of her teaching and contribution in tertiary education. Dr Papadopoulou is skilful in applying a broad range of orthodontic techniques and her vast theoretic and research knowledge allows the implementation of well-established as well as cutting-edge, evidence-based methods for best patient care in the everyday clinical practice. She is a member of the World Federation of Orthodontists, Australian Society of Orthodontists (academic member), European Orthodontic Society, American Association of Orthodontists, Italian Society of Orthodontics, Hellenic Orthodontic Society. She is registered specialist orthodontist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Dental Board of Australia), New Zealand Dental Council, General Dental Council (UK), Hellenic Dental Association.
